Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Statement

Living our core value of dignity every day means we need to open our eyes to the difficult reality that some staff, residents, family members, and others are marginalized in our society.

We recognize that the historical and ongoing inequities in American life are present everywhere, including in long-term care facilities. They show up as socioeconomic disparities and racial, ethnic, identity, gender, and age discrimination, and many other forms of discrimination.

As an organization committed to improving the quality of life for everyone living, working, or involved with long-term care facilities, we are committed to addressing these difficult realities. Our team has begun a process to ensure that the LiveWell approach fully addresses diversity, equity and inclusion. We are excited to focus on DEI as a next step to deepen our impact among staff and residents.

We will also strive as an organization to ensure that our own team, our policies, and our actions are always consistent with DEI principles.

At its essence, the LiveWell approach seeks to embed into the culture the day-to-day practices of trust and communication that are essential for enhancing dignity and organizational excellence. We know that we can’t do this alone. We invite you to share your thoughts, and we welcome your feedback on our unfolding process and our tools.
